San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Donates to Work Activity Program for People with Disabilities

Fontana - The Fontana Rehabilitation Workshop, Inc., a community-based nonprofit organization serving the Inland Empire since 1964, recently received a $25,000 grant from The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for support to it's Work Activity Program.

In a letter to the organization, Audrey Martinez, Business Committee Treasurer, states, " Social Responsibility has been the hallmark of the Tribe and it pleases us to see others with this belief as well. San Manuel Band of Mission Indians believes in caring for the community it serves."

According to Joseph Mitchell, the organization's Chief Executive Officer, "the timing of this donation is truly a blessing. Faced with the negative economy, the donation was extremely important in helping us to continue our services for people that need them most."

The Work Activity Program is one of four employment-based services provided by the organization. The program is designed to provide work training and develop employment oppotunities for people with the most severe disabilities. Annually, the organization serves 200 individuals through Industrial Support Systems.
